Justin Wiens

Justin is a Communications Associate for the Council on Foundations, employing his passion for story-seeking and story-telling to support the Council’s members and communities they serve. With years of professional expertise in Communications and Public Relations and a background in technology, sustainability, sports marketing, and journalism, Justin carries unique and holistic insight gained through his time across a wide array of sectors. Deeply connected to causes of equity and justice, Justin is dedicated to using his skills to help philanthropy advance the greater good and address society’s most pressing challenges.

Justin received a BA in Communications/Public Relations and a MA in Communications and Leadership from Gonzaga University.

Justin caught the travel bug on a high school trip to France and feels at home on the road. He’s studied in London and Florence, visited 15 countries, and takes any chance he can get to admire Impressionist art or a historical site in a new area code. Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area where he was born and raised, you’ll find Justin hiking in the Redwoods, reading on a beach along Monterey Bay, or agonizing over the Golden State Warriors.

Despite his 6-foot-5-inch frame, Justin never played basketball nor can he dunk. But he did put his height to use as a collegiate rower and to secure the best views as an avid traveler, where he once visited 12 countries in a four month span.
